To all current, new and potential members of the
Second Time Arounders:
We need you to report in NOW if you plan to perform with the band in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, 2008. This critical communication is intended for all, whether you've attended a previous Macy's planning meeting (May 8th/June 12th) or not. Please read this note carefully.
The travel industry has drastically altered due dates when the band must commit to hotel rooms and plane seats - it is beyond our control but there will be many negative consequences (such as no more hotel rooms at the deeply discounted host hotel) if each person doesn't react now even though the trip is still many months away.
If you intend to take advantage of the band's packages but wait to respond you will likely be faced with planning your own trip which may cost more and be extremely time consuming. However, even if you are making many of your own arrangements, we need to hear from you as there are other logistic questions we need answered.
IMMEDIATELY, please, every performing band member and every tag-along needs to do the following - even if you have already turned in a paper survey, and even if you are independently making many of your own arrangements:
- Go to the band's website AFTER READING THIS WHOLE EMAIL. (link is below)
- Locate the links on the right side of the home page that pertain to Macy’s - carefully read the Macy's FAQ's (these will be updated frequently throughout the summer) and the Trip Itinerary.
- Click on '2008 Season Survey'. Each performer and tag-along must fill out a separate survey. (National Flag Pageant members are considered PERFORMERS. True tag-alongs will not be marching in the street at Macy's.)
Do the best you can. We know it's early, you will have future opportunities to update/change your survey responses, but we MUST know NOW what you are thinking. Your responses will be instantly added to the band's database and will allow us to track hotel, plane and other travel needs which, in turn, will allow us to respond to the travel industry's aggressive deadlines with accurate information.
If you have an immediate question that must be answered before you can complete the survey, hit REPLY to this email and send your question to the Macy's Communications Team. We will try to respond quickly. As soon as you have a response, please fill out the survey.
After you successfully complete the survey, please send in the initial deposit - as outlined in the Macy's FAQ's. Mail a check to the band's PO Box, or in a matter of days, you will be able to pay online (for a mere 3% processing fee) using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, eChecks (online check payment), Bank Transfers, and/or PayPal account payments.
Trip cancellation insurance will eventually be offered and we will give plenty of notice before financial penalties are applied for cancelling - therefore, you can confidently send in a deposit for each person NOW.
The smooth success of our trip depends on EVERY INDIVIDUAL doing his/her part to report in, RIGHT NOW.
