SECOND TIME AROUNDERS 2007-08 PERCUSSION SECTION

Great practice last night! There was a super turnout of drummers, Greg Shontz, our new section leader did an outstanding job and we accomplished a lot. The new drum attitude, "loud and Proud" was very apparent.

Our next practice is scheduled for Tuesday, October 30^th at 7:00 p.m.# in the Northeast High School Band Room. CYMBALS SHOULD COME TO THIS NEXT PRACTICE. The practice after this one is November 27, and CYMBALS SHOULD ALSO ATTEND THIS ONE.

A few of you picked up drums during our Saturday "pickup", but did not attend practice. You missed alot. As we work to be the strong drum section for our 547 –piece band here and in New York, it is important that each of us are able to contribute and learn the material Greg is teaching us. To achieve the level of performance Macy's requires of its participating bands, we need to be at practice.

Our unique problem this year is we have more players than instruments. We will make sure that all have an instrument. But, I hope you can understand that if you have an instrument checked out to you and are not attending practice, we will ask you to return it so someone else may have the use of it.

If you are a new member or returning member and do not have equipment, please contact Greg Shontz by email so that we can arrange an instrument for you.

Plan to bring the rental fee to the next practice. This is $25.00 for drums and $15.00 for cymbals.

Keep up the great work, drummers! After last night, we are well on our way. We will add the 3^rd and 4^th tune at the next practice and review last night's as well.
